i wanted to represent the components of myself that are directly connected to my art and the ways i get my ideas for my work. the first panel represents my vision, the sunglasses are reflecting daisys which represent my grandmother. she recently passed away and we were very close. everything i look at seems to remind me of her and i wanted to portray that. the second panel represents my thought process. it is much more chaotic as i believe a thought is. if i had to paint what i thought the brain would look like while processing a thought that would be it. my picture that was done digitally is of me with my thinking face on. there are crayons behind me and lightbulbs representing ideas and the crayons represnt how i think of color when i look at things. for some reason i am very intrigued by color and consider colors in every object i look at. the third panel is about my heart. the pictures of me show me unbuttoning my shirt then revealing my heart to the viewer, it is a human heart that shows not one of those cheesey love hearts. i also redid the words on a heart diagram to make up what i think the main components of my heart are. i did this panel very childlike because i feel i am childish at heart and bright and cheery. the last panel is about my output of expression. i took a bunch of different pictures of my hand with different artists utensils and made a treelike structure out of them. i made butterflies fluttering out of the outspread hands at the top and i scanned sketches from my sketch book and put them under the hands. there are some common motifs among all of the panels such as real flowers and a screen printed face. drying flowers has always been something i have done with my mom and grandmother and i still do it all the time today (there are actually bundles of flowers drying in my dorm room now) and i am very inspired by nature. i really had fun with this project and though there are a few things i would like to tweak i am still satisfied with the outcome and i hope everyone enjoyed it.
